!i just expected more ...We have just returned from a 3 night stay, with 2 of our dogs, an older girl and a nervous GSD, this was the GSD's first trip away and in honesty we thought we might be home by 2nd day.
The food at dinner and breakfast was excellent, and served with smiles. Enjoy free WiFi, free parking and a restaurant. The owners are friendly and if you appear wealthy enough they will try to sell you some art. Of particular interest was the ongoing restoration of the various rooms. The sea views were spectacular from our very comfy room.A true Knights of the Round Table castle with lots of unique decor whilst maintaining the historical. Stayed here with my husband for one night for his birthday. Upstairs I didn’t feel was so great. It’s a great base location for exploring the surrounding area. Excellent coastal walks on the doorstep. On the plus side the bed was very comfy and we did have lovely views. Restaurant evening food was also above standard. The views are stunning from the property and the castle itself is a beautiful sight.We chose Camelot Castle as the clifftop position appealed, despite the Force 9 gales that were blowing for our visit, and the very mixed reviews we read about it which nearly caused us to cancel. No the rooms aren't 5 star, but if you don't pay 5 five star you can't expect it!! We shall definitely go back to the Camelot Castle Hotel. There was plenty of walks around and the hotel was in walking distance of Tintagel town. Also when we first entered our room the two windows were full of flies. The downstairs of the Camelot castle is beautiful and very grande almost felt like we were visiting a national trust property. I highly recommend this hotel, which is just a few minutes walk from the center of the little town of Tintagel.Excellent location on the clifftops overlooking Tintagel Castle. !nothing was a problem ..my only slight disappointment was my room whilst i accept that i done the weekend on a budget and that i had paid for one of the cheapest rooms on offer i did expect room to be a bit better..don't get me wrong it was clean and tidy and view was to die for !!
The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the meal we had on the evening we arrived was excellent. Please see our partners for more details. I would recommend the hotel for an idyllic stay steely in history. Thanks for everything. Our room was small, I felt the rooms could do with updating, a lick of paint wouldn’t go a miss and the carpet was all frayed at the edges. I was not disappointed. We were given an upgraded room to a four-poster, with a fireplace, and a balcony with a view of the ruins of Tintagel Castle.
On a daytrip to Tintagel a few years ago I saw this hotel atop the hill across from the ruins of Tintagel Castle and vowed to stay there one day.
Amazing art work throughout the whole hotel.Beautiful ground floor reception rooms, the staff where lovely and food excellent, just a shame our room was damp with water running down the wall, with peeling paint on the ceiling and water coming through the window, of which only one opened!
